CITÉ INTERNATIONALE DES ARTS | A PARIS

IRANIAN ARTS NOW est un festival d’art contemporain iranien organisé à Paris du
23 au 30 juin, 2012 par Arts Arena France.
La programmation regroupe toutes les formes d’expressions artistiques :
VISUAL & PERFORMANCE ART | MUSIC | DANCE | THEATER | FILM | DESIGN
ainsi que des ateliers autour d’artistes et d’experts. Ces rencontres sont l’occasion de réunir les différents points de vue d’une société divisée : les Iraniens de l’intérieur, les
membres de la diaspora de la première ou deuxième génération et les plus jeunes.
Ce festival a pour ambition d’être un théâtre pour la nouvelle création artistique
contemporaine iranienne.

Festival Director

Margery Arent Safir

Professor of Comparative Literature, Founder and Director of the Arts Arena. The author, coauthor, and general editor of books and articles in English, Spanish, French, and German on the major figures of contempo­rary Latin American literature, she has also collaborated with distinguished scientists Stephen Jay Gould, Roald Hoffmann, Evelyn Fox Keller, et. al. on the interactions of science and literature. Her latest publication is as Editorial Director of Robert Wilson from Within, published in October 2011 in English, and November 2011 in French (Arts Arena and Flammarion).  A 2007 Meymandi Distinguished Visitor at the National Humanities Center in the United States, she sits on the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Artists Residency JACA, and is a member of the International Advisory Council of the Aspen Institute Global Initiative on Arts, Culture, and Society.  She received her Ph.D. in 1977 from Yale University.

The visual arts exhibition will remain up through July 24.

Cité internationale des Arts

Located in the center of Paris between the Ile Saint Louis and the Marais at 18 quai de l’Hôtel de Ville, 75004 Paris, it offers over 500 square meters of exhibition space, an auditorium/theater seating 130, and a garden.

Bibliothèque Nationale de France.

Located on quai François Mauriac, 75013 Paris. The festival event on the evening of June 27 will take place in the auditorium.
